Group TSMT® Training

We recommend the group Targeted Sensory-Motor Training® (TSMT® II) for children aged 18 months to 12 years who exhibit one or more of the following characteristics:
  • They are exceptionally talented in certain areas, while lagging behind in others.
  • Learning difficulties, learning disabilities (dyscalculia, dyslexia, dysgraphia)
    • Orientation in space is difficult
    • Uncertainty of right-left discrimination
  • Inattention, concentration problem in the following areas:
    • Short-term memory, short-term working memory
    • Simultaneous multichannel attention
    • Note the order of tasks
    • Difficulty working independently
  • Behavioural problems:
    • Anxiety, lack of self-confidence
    • Weak control functions, mild hyperactivity
    • Acceptance of peer situations, cooperation with peers
  • Clumsy movement, poor balance, coordination
  • Weakness of synchronous functions
  • Speech development disorder or impairment
  • Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD)
Group TSMT® training is recommended for children who achieve a level of 50-75% in the areas of nervous system maturity and motor maturity during the Longitudinal Complex Examination, but perform below 75% in the cognitive area of attention. It is important that children participating in group exercises are cooperative and able to work independently or with minimal assistance in groups of 3-6. Spectacular results can be achieved in their movement. in uncertain, hyperactive, school-immature children- whose attention functions definitely need improvement.

How does the TSMT® II training course work?

The training takes place in a gym setting, in a stimulating environment, typically without parents—the exceptions to this are baby groups and groups of children who are severely delayed but can be integrated into the group. Each group consists of 3-6 people with a homogeneous, identical level of knowledge, making it suitable for learning skills-based training. The trainer leads the exercises in a pre-equipped room, according to specific training elements. The tasks used are the processing of large movements during the specific operational period, better control of attention, sensorimotor synchronisation, improvement of praxis, body outline, spatial orientation, laterality, dominance, seriality, sense of rhythm, and motor creativity, as well as the development of simultaneous multichannel attention, and also develop the integration of the so-called primitive/infant reflex profile. These skills and abilities form the essential basis for successful school performance.

How long does TSMT® II training last?

TSMT II® training sessions last 45-90 minutes and take place 2-3 times a week. The training sessions usually follow the school year, so it is advisable to enroll your child from September to June in order to achieve spectacular results. The training sessions become more difficult every two weeks, and the weighting of the tasks also changes from training session to training session. In the case of group therapy, a follow-up examination is recommended at the end of the year after the training sessions have been completed. The results of this examination will indicate whether further tasks in an advanced group are recommended for the child, or whether other development activities or sports can replace the TSMT II® sessions.
