Hydro-Rhythmic Gymnastics (HRG) training is recommended for children aged 6 months to 8 years, and in some cases up to 12 years, who exhibit one or more of the following symptoms:
  • Nurturing the talents of gifted children
  • Swimming preparation – as a basic technique in sports
  • High degree of hyperactivity
  • Appearance of infant/primitive reflexes visible
  • Severe attention and concentration problems
  • Regulatory disorders (eating, sleeping, behavioral problems)
  • Difficult parent-child relationship
  • Attachment disorder, overly attached or poorly attached child
  • Strengthening the bonds of adopted children
  • Prematurity
  • Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD)
  • Behavioral problems
    • Increased aggression
    • Anxiety
    • Lack of cooperation
    • Weakness of control functions
    • Parent-child relationship problems, attachment disorders
  • Delayed speech development
  • Unsteady balance, poor coordination of movement
  • Childhood autism (in the case of uncooperative children)
  • Asperger syndrome (in the case of children who are difficult to work with)
  • Central nervous system injury (CP) up to age 12

HRG is a supplementary training program for both TSMT® I and TSMT® II training. The method takes advantage of the characteristics of the aquatic environment (temperature, buoyancy, resistance, etc.) and the fact that this environment provides constant stimulation when it comes into contact with children's skin, which has a very positive effect on the nervous system and its maturation processes. In the case of uncooperative children who have difficulty forming attachments, it is recommended to supplement TSMT® I training with HRG training, because the changed environment has a positive effect on both balance stimuli and cooperation, and also plays an important role in the reduction of unintegrated archaic reflexes.

How does HRG training work?

HRG training takes place in warm water, where the trainer selects elements suitable for the children from more than 1,000 tasks based on their development and knowledge level, dividing them into homogeneous groups. A characteristic feature of HRG training is that the parent is also in the pool, and the HRG trainer instructs the group of 10-12 people accordingly. A wide range of equipment-applied in various situationsin active and passive stimulationsfor children, so they can test themselves, learn to react to different balance situations, gain experience with their own bodies, become smarter, and improve their perception, attention, and memory. With the help of parents/guardians, we implement more than 1,000 tasks in an increasingly difficult system, following the stages of children's motor development in a teaching pool environment.

How long does HRG training last?

HRG training sessions last 30-90 minutes and take place once a week. Trainer conduct each training series 10-12 times with children and their parents, as proper posture control develops more slowly and becomes more secure in water, so a higher number of repetitions is recommended. HRG therapies are started and completed with the Longitudinal Complex Examination, LongiKid®.
